Dear Parents,
In an effort to keep you informed, we are notifying you that our school was placed on a soft lockdown for approximately 55 minutes in response to comments of a threatening nature made against the school.
Today, April 12, 2023, administrators were alerted to a report that the comments were made by an unknown individual who was on a phone call with a student. Out of an abundance of caution, the building was secured around 11:55 a.m. to allow the Columbia County School District Police to investigate further. All parties responsible will be held accountable according to the law and the Code of Conduct. During this time instruction was not interrupted, and school operations continued as normal.
Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we take incidents such as these extremely seriously and investigate fully. Parents, please speak with your children about the seriousness of making threats and the consequences that follow. Working together, we can continue to provide a safe environment for our students and staff.
